The league features six teams playing five matches in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. Notable players include Woods, McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, and others. Tonight's opening match pits New York Golf Club against The Bay Golf Club.

The innovative format includes:

• A five-story-high simulator screen
• 30 original holes designed by leading companies including Nicklaus Design
• Real grass fairways and Augusta National-quality sand
• A dynamic "Green Zone" for shots within 35 yards
• Two-hour matches with players mic'd up
• 15-hole matches split between Triples (9 holes) and Singles (6 holes)

High-profile investors include Shohei Ohtani, Lewis Hamilton, and Josh Allen, while team owners feature prominent figures like Steve Cohen and the Williams sisters.

Early betting action has been minimal, with most sportsbooks offering basic markets. DraftKings' opening line has New York Golf Club at -125 and Bay Golf Club at +100. Traders expect betting interest to increase, particularly during Tiger Woods' appearances, which historically boost betting handle by 4-5 times.

The league aims to attract younger audiences to golf through its technology-driven format and faster pace of play. The playoff schedule includes semifinals on March 17-18 and a best-of-three championship series March 24-25.
