Pawn Stars Show Films in Secret Studio, Not at Famous Las Vegas Shop
The coveted "Pawn Stars" show appearance is more elusive than most tourists realize. Despite up to 5,000 daily visitors to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in downtown Las Vegas, chances of getting on the show are virtually non-existent.
The reality? The show isn't filmed in the actual shop anymore. After the first season's success, producers moved filming to a hidden replica set on the building's second floor, away from public access.

None of the show's famous cast members - Corey Harrison, Rick Harrison, or "Chumlee" Russell - work in the public shop. While the store remains profitable, it functions more as a gift shop than a pawn shop.

Getting on the show requires pre-arranged casting. Background extras may occasionally be selected from shop visitors, but featured "customers" are cast in advance. The bargaining scenes are scripted, with prices predetermined and participants coached by producers.

Even the cast's impressive knowledge of items isn't spontaneous - they receive detailed briefings before filming each segment. While the show maintains its entertainment value, visitors hoping for an impromptu TV appearance should adjust their expectations.
