Caesars Virginia has officially opened its doors in Danville, marking a significant milestone with its $750 million integrated resort complex. Located on the former Dan River Mills textile campus, the property preserves the iconic Three Sisters smokestacks as a tribute to the city's heritage.

The casino features:

  • 1,500 slot machines
  • 79 live dealer table games
  • 48 electronic table games
  • World Series of Poker Room
  • Caesars Sportsbook
  • 320 hotel rooms
  • 50,000 square feet of meeting space
  • 2,500-seat theater
  • Full-service spa and pool

Dining options include Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen by the Michelin-starred chef, Dan Dan Noodle, Three Smokes, and the 500 Block Food Hall by local restaurateur Steve Parry.

The project is a joint venture between Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), extending their successful partnership from North Carolina's tribal casinos. EBCI Chief Michell Hicks emphasized the project's significance for economic growth and job creation in the region.

The grand opening featured NBA legend Dennis Rodman as master of ceremonies, complete with a parade of luxury vehicles and a fireworks and drone show. Rodman placed the first sports bet - a $100 five-leg parlay on his former NBA teams.

Danville expects to receive $35-40 million annually from the casino, collecting 6.5% of monthly gross gaming revenue plus additional taxes from hotel stays, dining, entertainment, and other resort activities.

Though delayed from its initial December 12 opening date, local residents have expressed enthusiasm about the development, with many comparing the experience to Las Vegas and praising its transformative effect on the city.
