The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has granted preliminary approval for C&C 4455 to manage daily operations at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, amid ongoing worker strikes. The new entity is led by Cliff Atkinson as CEO and Chad Konrad as CFO.

Atkinson acknowledged the property's struggles since reopening, citing the unsuccessful previous management by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. The new management plans to:

  • Increase marketing to local players and visitors
  • Add more entertainment and amenities
  • Expand customer loyalty programs

The property, owned by Juniper Capital Management and Richard Branson's Virgin Group, faces ongoing labor disputes with Culinary Union Local 226, which began striking on November 15. Union representatives at the NGCB meeting emphasized the company's reluctance to match industry-standard contracts recently negotiated with other Las Vegas properties.

Union members raised concerns about ownership transparency, questioning why property owners were absent from the regulatory meeting. The Culinary Union seeks improved wages and benefits for workers, while Virgin Hotels Las Vegas claims the union is bargaining in bad faith and has not seriously considered their economic proposals.

The management change requires final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) before taking effect.
