Steve Hofstetter Cancels Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Performance in Support of Strike
Comedian Steve Hofstetter has canceled his January performance at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas's 24 Oxford venue in solidarity with striking hospitality workers. The show has been rescheduled for May 19 at Wise Guys Las Vegas Town Square.

Hofstetter, who has 823K YouTube subscribers, announced the cancellation via Facebook, citing the ongoing labor dispute. All tickets will be automatically refunded.
The Culinary Union, representing approximately 700 striking workers, praised Hofstetter's decision. Union secretary-treasurer Ted Pappageorge called it "a courageous stand for justice and fairness," noting concerns about the casino's treatment of workers, including threats of permanent replacement and deportation issues.
The core dispute centers on wage increases, with the union stating Virgin Las Vegas offered only about 30 cents per hour in increases. Workers seek a contract similar to those recently secured at other Las Vegas casino-hotels.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas claims the union is bargaining in bad faith and hasn't properly presented their latest offer to members. The casino's recent proposal for binding arbitration was rejected by the union, with Pappageorge emphasizing workers' preference to negotiate directly rather than involve third parties.
The strike, which began November 15, continues as both sides remain at an impasse. The Culinary Union is calling for other performers, customers, and conventions to boycott Virgin Hotels Las Vegas until a resolution is reached.
