Paul, 27, secured a unanimous decision victory over Tyson, 58, in the eight-round bout. The purse split reportedly awarded Tyson $20 million and Paul $40 million.

888 Sport noted strong betting activity, particularly from Canada and the UK, with most bets favoring Tyson. BetMGM saw triple the usual bets and quadruple the handle compared to previous combat events. Popular prop bets included Tyson to win by KO/TKO/DQ (+250) and Tyson to win in Round 1 (+1400).

DraftKings reported 3.5 times more bets and handle than their previous record-holding boxing match. BetRivers saw similar success, with the bout generating more money than their next four most wagered-on fights of 2024 combined.

Caesars Sportsbook compared the handle to an NFL Monday Night game, noting the unique generational appeal of the match. Despite being the underdog at +180, Tyson attracted 67% of tickets and 53% of the handle at BetMGM.

Barstool Sports' Dave Portnoy criticized the event as a marketing ploy, praising Paul's promotional skills while questioning expectations about Tyson's performance given his age and time away from professional boxing.
