Isle of Man Revokes Metagrow Solutions' License Following Director's Cybercrime Conviction
The Isle of Man's Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) has revoked Metagrow Solutions' gaming software provider license following the imprisonment of one of its directors in Singapore for cybercrime involvement.
Malaysian national and Metagrow director Seow Gim Shen received a 14-week prison sentence in October after pleading guilty to attempting to purchase stolen personal information of 9,369 individuals from an online gambling website.

The data was stolen by Sun Jiao, allegedly part of a Chinese-run global cybercrime syndicate in Singapore. Seow met Sun at a Cambodian casino in 2019 through a Chinese national who suggested Sun could provide valuable gambling industry databases.
Seow later connected Sun with Kong Chien Hoi, both major shareholders in Rexit, a Malaysian financial software solutions company. The three created a "Malaysian Data" chat group to negotiate the sale of stolen information. When Kong analyzed a sample, he found 32% of the entries were fully contactable via SMS. Sun claimed he could also provide data for over one million Thai nationals.
The scheme unraveled when Sun was arrested, and investigators discovered connections to Seow and Kong through his phone records.
The GSC stated they were "no longer satisfied [Metagrow] was under the control of a person of integrity." Metagrow, licensed in March 2023 with offices in Douglas, is under ongoing investigation by the Commission, with a detailed statement pending completion.
