The opening weekend attracted 58,000 visitors, with total visitation exceeding 100,000 during the first 17 days. The casino's 303-room hotel maintained full occupancy despite premium rates starting at $599 per night.
Revenue Breakdown:
- Slot machines: $15.5 million
- Table games: $2.6 million
- Total GGR: $18,072,828.02
The casino's success extends beyond gaming revenue. Hard Rock Bristol has created over 1,000 jobs with above-average wages and contributes 6% of monthly GGR to local government, generating more than $1 million in November alone.
Virginia's other casinos also performed well in November:
- Rivers Casino Portsmouth: $25.7 million
- Caesars Virginia (temporary facility): $19.7 million
Caesars Virginia is set to open its permanent $750 million facility on December 17, with opening night room rates ranging from $499 to $1,000, demonstrating strong demand for luxury gaming experiences in the region.
The success of these casinos aligns with Virginia's 2020 casino law, which aimed to boost economic development in select cities. Early results indicate the strategy is achieving its intended economic benefits for local communities.
