Genting Seeks Dismissal of $600M False Accounting Lawsuit Over Bimini Resort
Genting Malaysia has requested a Florida federal court dismiss a $600 million lawsuit filed by RAV Bahamas over alleged fraud and false accounting at Resorts World Bimini.
RAV Bahamas, owned by Florida's Capo family, claims Genting has turned their joint venture into a "financial wasteland" with $885 million in debt, preventing any return on investment for RAV.

The dispute stems from a 2012 partnership when Genting joined RAV's existing Bimini Bay resort development to add casino operations. The two companies formed BB Entertainment (BBE) to own and develop the project.
Genting argues the case should be dismissed because:
- It's a shareholder dispute that should be handled in the Bahamas per agreement
- The claims are time-barred, alleging fraud from 2014
- The complaint fails to prove false statements or knowledge of untrue claims
- It incorrectly claims Genting Americas conspired with itself
RAV alleges Genting has:
- Denied full access to BBE's financial records
- Rejected requests for independent audits
- Created debt larger than Genting Malaysia's 150 subsidiaries combined
- Used complex corporate structure to conceal financial improprieties
Genting maintains all allegations are "baseless and without merit," while RAV insists only "massive and coordinated fraud" could explain the resort's enormous debt burden, particularly given RAV's prior development of significant infrastructure.
