Boyz II Men's performance of the national anthem at the Las Vegas Grand Prix drew widespread criticism for their off-key rendition. The Grammy-winning R&B group struggled from the opening lines, particularly hitting a flat note during "Oh say can you see?"

Social media reaction was swift and negative, with GPFans editor Chris Deeley calling it "the worst anthem rendition of the season." Some fans speculated that technical issues, such as lack of in-ear monitors or wind conditions, may have contributed to the poor performance.

The disappointing delivery was particularly notable given band member Wanya Morris's earlier statement: "I'm not sure if F1 has ever experienced hearing a Boyz II Men anthem, but we've been told it's pretty sexy."

While memorable for the wrong reasons, this performance doesn't rank among the most notorious national anthem mishaps. That distinction still belongs to Roseanne Barr's 1990 performance at a San Diego Padres game. Other notable controversial renditions include Christina Aguilera's Super Bowl XLV performance with incorrect lyrics, Carl Lewis's 1993 attempt at a Chicago Bulls game, and Fergie's widely-criticized 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend version.
